Flag Description

The city of Dublin is located about 24 miles south and east of Oakland. It began in 1822 as a rancho of Jose Maria Amador as payment for his services in the Mexican government. The Irish nature of its name and symbols comes from Michael Murray and Jeremiah Fallon, Irish settlers who came to the area in 1852 and served on the county board of supervisors when Murray Township was established in 1854. The first schoolhouse in the Amador-Livermore Valley was build here in 1977. The area became a crossroads for two stage lines. Mail was delivered to the Dougherty Station Hotel and the area was called Dougherty's Station. In 1982, the City of Dublin was incorporated.

At this time, I do not have much information on the city's flag. It consists of a white flag with the city seal centered on it in green. The seal consists of a wide white ring outlined with green. At the top are the words "City of Dublin" and at the bottom "California" with "19" to the left and "82" on the right. 1982 is the date the city was incorporated. Within the ring is a figure like a stylized outline four leaf clover. In the top leaf is a stagecoach, to the right a shamrock, at the bottom is a plow and to the left is an old schoolhouse.
